Climate Counts iPhone App
The Climate Counts Scorecard is a collaborative effort to help consumers make a conscious decision for the products and services they buy. The scorecard rates some of the largest companies on their climate impact. The non-profit now has an iPhone app, so you can have the Scorecard with you wherever you go.

That’s defenitely a good idea. However, there is a risk that the apps’ designers might have set it up with a bias towards certain companies/brands

There are plenty of environmentalists would love such application.

I think this is a great idea and should be encouraged. We are having more and more of an impact on the environment and need to be conscious of those companies who have still stuck their heads in the sand over this issue.

This is a great idea! We at Singlebrook are similarly looking to generate a positive social or environmental impact through an iPhone application. Through our Sustainable iPhone App Program we will develop a free custom app for the non-profit, B corp, or mission-driven organization that submits a winning idea!

At Climate Counts, I realize people have busy schedules and don’t always have time to look up information on a company before shopping. So for anyone that works on-the-go, Climate Counts lets you use your phone to get company’s climate scores anytime, anyplace.

Until now, I had a mind-set, that only a handful of NGO’s and their contributors are doing their bit to save the environment for the younger generations. It is heartening to see a huge corporate like Apple Inc. trying to create an awareness among its customers by installing this application.

Great application, Tom! The iPhone never fails to amaze me. With lots of other applications that are pretty much useless and are just for fun and amusement, along comes applications like this that are actually worthwhile.
